Beautiful ribbons of blood red smoke
Underpinnings of a song once sung
Smoky waters, lurking prey
Haunting like the heart you broke
Panic rising in the crackling flames
Weaving a tapestry of fire burn lines
Drowning with dearest death in my wake
With no one near to take the blame
The sliver moon sang me a song
Quiet cold, dreaming in the dead of night
So damn tired, unsure what’s wrong
Shedding dark wings, wrapping me tight
The silver moon played a deathly tune
Taunting my wake, laughing loud.
With a hint of a soft, sickly croon,
My face becomes lost in the faceless crowd.
Gold streak dance, waltz away.
Let me lie, let me sleep
It may be light or so I pray
But the night haunts, demon creep
Cloudless horror, blackness swallow
You can run, but you cannot hide.
I drown in the bloody hollow,
And I fall with thorns in my side
The blood red lake rumbles
Drip drop dripping before my eyes
Kills the fire soaking wet
The woods are dark and I stumble
Endless maze, leave me be
Let me wander, bring me peace
Branded forever with the fire burn lines
Embers etched in the cracks of my skin
